We first contracted Mr Colin Stevenson as the company's book keeper and chief accountant in May 2005 and he has been a credit to our business. Our small publishing portfolio of business to business titles is anything but straight forward in terms of accounting and keeping the books in order. For example, over 80% of our incoming revenue comes from overseas - namely Western Europe, North America, south-east Asia, Japan, China, Australia and the Middle East. In turn, the invoices we receive are in foreign currency and need to be converted and personal expenses can be challenging to put onto spreadsheets.
Luckily, Colin is extremely thorough and diligent and his attention to detail is magnificent. Not only does he keep our accounts up to date with legible, easy to understand spreadsheets, but he helps to save us money in the process, by ensuring that we are kept aware of details that we often miss. The filing system he insists we use also saves us time and effort when archiving and sourcing old account details.
Colin always makes adequate preparations in advance of his pre-arranged visits, which take place every four weeks and his punctuality is like his book keeping - precise. As general manager / publisher of the operation, I have enough problems to worry about on a day to day business -luckily the accounts are not one of them. Colin has brought much piece of mind to our business.
